Kangastus is a textile company dedicated to beautiful designs and genuinely Finnish products. Our own print patterns are mainly the work of Finnish designers, and all finished products are manufactured locally in the Pirkanmaa region to support domestic, local craftspeople and to ensure the high quality of our products. As a testament to this, many of our products carry the Key Flag symbol, awarded by the association for Finnish Work for products and services of Finnish origin.

Tampere is a city with a long tradition in textile manufacturing. This is where Kangastus has its roots. The company was formed in 1986 by two former employees of the Tampella metal and textile factory who decided to join forces with textile artist Anneli Airikka-Lammi to realise their vison, Kangastus (wordplay on the Finnish words “kangas” (fabric) and “kangastus” (mirage)). Today, Kangastus is in the hands of talents belonging to a younger generation. They face the future with a passionate drive and respect for tradition and the two founders’ original set of values.
