Finnish clothing brand for men, Formal Friday, is seeking international growth with a particular focus on the Asian market.
The company is hitting the global fashion retail with recently collected funding, the investors including Finnish investment companies and private names such as football player Joel Pohjanpalo.
Finnish men’s fashion is trending globally, and Finland was recently chosen as the guest nation of the January 2018 Pitti Uomo fashion industry event.
Formal Friday, founded two years ago, has received plenty of excellent feedback for its products in Asia. CEO Toni Tervilä believes there’s plenty of potential in the market.
“Nordic fashion is currently deemed interesting in Japan and South Korea, for example,” he says in the press release. “Combining sport and leisure clothes is a megatrend in men’s fashion and ideologically present in our brand, too. It feels like we’re in the right place at the right time.”
Formal Friday’s export efforts have been boosted in collaboration with Finpro’s Lifestyle Finland programme.
