Finlayson has a rich heritage of manufacturing quality textiles since 1820. Today Finlayson textiles and Familon bed concepts add a touch of luxury to private homes and public premises.
The dynamically evolving group Finlayson & Co is the driving force behind Finlayson Oy.
Philosophy
Finlayson touches the lives of Finns in a special way. Throughout its history, Finlayson has contributed to building Finnish society and well-being. Through its products, Finlayson is in direct contact with people from dawn till dusk. And from dusk till dawn.
Everyone knows what clean sheets feel like against the skin. Everyone knows the feel of a washed terry towel after sauna and the heavy warmth of a bathrobe on a winter's eve. Quality home textiles are not only defined by pattern and motifs but by the feel of them.
You need something soft between you and the world.

Finnish excellence
Finlayson products are designed in Finland and have been awarded the right to use Design from Finland certificate.
In addition to home textiles, the company's suite of products comprises contract textiles and bed concepts for hotels, cruise ships and public premises. The Finlayson Pro unit is responsible for contract interior design.
Finlayson product design, sales and administration units are located in Helsinki, Finland. Finlayson logistics center is located in Forssa. Annually some four million meters of fabric is printed and dyed to make some 900,000 Finlayson textile products.
Finlayson cushions and bedspreads as well as Familon duvets and pillows are manufactured in Kankaanpää, where the annual output is some one million pillows and 500,000 quilted products.
Heinola is the place of manufacture for Familon sprung beds, mattresses and mattress pads. Annual output comes to some 250,000 items.
Safe use
Mattresses, pillows, duvets and bed linens affect their users for an average of eight hours a day. This is why thorough research and testing constitute an important part of Finlayson's operations.
Finlayson’s long-term cooperation with the Allergy and Asthma Federation of Finland guarantees, that the products are also ideal for allergy sufferers and particularly sensitive consumers. Finlayson bed linens as well as Familon duvets, pillows, mattresses and mattress pads have been awarded the right to use the Allergy and Asthma Federation of Finland's cooperation label.
Finlayson products contain no substances that are harmful to the human skin. Advance testing of new materials prevents harmful materials from being used in products. The international Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label ensures, that products are safe for consumers.
Finlayson Oy has been awarded the ISO9001 quality management certificate, the ISO14001 environmental management certificate and the OHSAS18001 certificate for occupational health and safety managements systems.
Respecting the nature
Finlayson is the first mattress manufacturer in Finland to be awarded the Nordic Ecolabel, the official Ecolabel in the Nordic countries. The Nordic Ecolabel evaluates a product's impact on the environment throughout the whole lifecycle. The label guarantees among other things, that climate requirements are taken into account and that CO2 emissions and other harmful gasses are limited.
In 2012 Finlayson released 100 % biodegradable Cradle to Cradle certified terry towels to the Finnish market. Cradle to Cradle certification is both comprehensive and rigorous. It requires a paradigm shift in thinking about environmental and social impacts. Finlayson’s suite of products also comprises terry towels made of Fairtrade cotton.
