The history of Sidoste socks began in a typically Finnish way, in the cellar of Saima and Lauri Mölsä's home. The year was 1945 and in the aftermath of war, there were more demands than sources of supply to meet them. The entrepreneurial family had confidence in its abilities and believed that when prosperity again began growing there would be a market for socks carefully made from good materials. Now Sidoste is one of the biggest sock manufacturers in the Nordic countries. It is still a family company and bases its operations on the same values as its founders did. High quality remains the company's central growth-promoting strength. An annual capacity of about 3 million pairs, a range of hundreds of models and the combined skills of nearly a 70 people testify to Sidoste's success. For decades, the slogan "A Sidoste sock can stand it" and the two terriers testing its durability have conveyed a message about our products' most important property. Sidoste socks bear the coveted Avainlippu - Made in Finland quality label, a key with the Finnish flag attached, and all of the yarns used meet the Öko Tex 100 product safety standard.
