Annikki Karvinen started fashion design and established the company in 1968, over 40 years ago. Today, the production and head office are located in Seppälä industrial area in Jyväskylä, central Finland. In Helsinki, the company’s flag-ship store lies right on the main shopping street, Pohjoisesplanadi. There the customers can get individual service and tailor-made garments. Approximately half of the total production is exported. Main export countries are Japan, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. Recently, a new importer for South Korea has started with Karvinen. Oy Annikki Karvinen Ltd. is a family business. Annikki Karvinen is the designer and artistic manager. Her husband, Anto Karvinen is the company’s CEO. Annikki´s daughter, Kati Karvinen, is in charge of the markets in Germany and United States. In addition, she has her own store called "Karvinen" on Neuerwall in Hamburg.
